Might seem like its straight forward right? Well to some people who don't have a clue of what good music is, this is like a knife at a gun fight; no good. There are even some people who will look at this & completely shut it out because they don't wear "baggy" clothes. (Do people not know that clothes come in sizes??)
If you look closely to the left of the shirt, you see Marvin Gaye. Although killed April 1, 1984, his musical genius has inspired artist in the years following his death. His fashion sense showed a definite appreciation of his time & his own personal style which I respect so well. His music was enthusiastic, sexy, original, calming, erotic, smart, and extremely rhythmic. He reached levels with women all over the world that most men can't if they lived in the same home with them. And his dress made it more difficult to resist his smooth croon. Even tho most of the time you might have found him in a knit hat, a sweater, slacks, and a trench, he would bring out the 3 piece suit (in preferably grey or blue) when the occasion called. He wasn't afraid of colors, knits, cottons and even polyester. This lead the way for artist with a similar style of dress & almost identical style of music.
That shirt, however, is simply a message through the use of fabric and art. Where did the good music go? Well thank God for artist like Robin Thicke, Maxwell, Raheim DeVaughn & more, who embody the musical characteristics of the great Marvin Gaye. He's not the only great that I miss but how coincidental that he was pictured. I do see often though that there are many ACDC, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, KISS, & Nirvana shirts to go around. This just tells me that I am not the only one who notices & respects the close connection to the two. Messages in fashion will forever live.
